The Territory Sales Representative develops and maintains relationships with potential and existing customers, championing the Coburn Technologies, Inc extensive line of Ophthalmic Diagnostic Equipment and Lens Processing Equipment, and their related consumables, has a competitive, closer spirt, finds, and capitalizes on opportunities, and works their territory to produce and capitalize profitable results and growth.

Working under the direction of the Vice President, Sales, the Sales Rep covers the Texas territory, which includes the Dallas, San Antonio, Houston and Austin Metropolitan Areas.

We are looking for a dedicated individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment and growing markets! Ideal candidates will have a minimum of three years outside sales experience in a commission, optical sales B2B environment, a bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field, knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and be results and mission driven.

The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities, work under pressure, and handle a wide variety of accounts.

Territory Sales Representative Essential Functions :

  • Develops and maintains relationships with potential and existing clients.
  • Achieves monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the territory, in each product line.
  • Identifies and locates new clients through a variety of methods including networking and cold calling.
  • Develops and implements strategies for sales within the territory, including call plan to achieve desired customer contact and / or onsite presentation and demo.
  • Participates in and represents Coburn Technologies, Inc. in regional and national trade shows.
  • Applies knowledge of companys products and product features to match products to the needs of the customer.
  • Answers inquiries from clients concerning products and their use.
  • Provides information, quotes, credit terms and other bid specifications to clients.
  • Negotiates prices, terms of sales, and / or service agreements in conjunction with the Vice President of Sales, and Director of Service.

Prepares contracts and submits orders.

  • Collaborates with Service and Operations to confirm that orders are processed with accuracy and efficiency and that products are distributed properly.
  • Prepares and reports results, status of accounts and leads to the Vice President, Sales.

Requirements Territory Sales Representative Requirements :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent sales and negotiating skills.
  • Proven sales performance and ability to increase revenues, outside optical sales experience strongly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of Coburn Technologies, Inc. products.
  • Strong Technical Skills, with the ability to install, demo select equipment and provide low level service as needed within territory.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, including B2B.
  • Excellent training and presentation skills.
  • Ability to anticipate challenges, while proposing creative solutions to problem solve.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 75% travel time), with overnight stays dependent on geography within assigned territory, and other regions of the US, when needed.
  • Valid Drivers license with good driving record.
  • Credit card with sufficient line of credit.
  • Recommended result from Sales Achievement Predictor Assessment, Cognitive Aptitude Test result 80 or above.

Work Schedule :

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8 : 30 am to 5 pm. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the core work hours of 9 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full time status.

Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel :

Extensive travel is required, by car and airplane. Travel outside of assigned territory, including Local, Regional and National Trade Shows, when required.
