This internship opportunity is for students currently enrolled at the University of Colorado - Denver. 

CoBank interns get real-life exposure to the daily duties of their group. They spend the summer as a valued member of their respective team, learning business skills and assisting with a variety of projects that have an impact on the bank’s operations. An additional focus of the summer intern will be to complete a capstone project that will seek to add value to the team they are supporting.

Job Description

Assists in preparing monthly journal entries and monthly account reconciliations. Participates in company's accounting procedures to help maintain compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. Provides assistance to accountants while performing accounting, administrative and bookkeeping duties. Coordinates in processing invoices. Assists with external reporting, management reporting, financial planning and analysis and tax requirements. Interacts with various accounting and reporting systems. Willingness to learn accounting and reporting information systems.

Essential Functions

  • Assists in recording monthly close journal entries for various revenue and expense accounts as well as balance sheet accounts, and any other entry needed to properly complete the month-end financials.
  • Works with internal suppliers of information to ensure accuracy of journal entries and schedules.
  • Coordinates monthly reconciliation and maintenance of asset, liability and equity accounts.
  • Assists with tax filings, accounts receivables and accounts payables.
  • Assists with external financial reporting and management reporting.
  • Also helps with financial planning and analysis.
  • Helps comply with regulatory and tax requirements.

Education

  • High school diploma and completion of some Accounting/Finance coursework. 
  • Currently enrolled in and working toward a degree in a related discipline.

Compensation Information:Undergraudate - $21.00
