Job Summary:

You will serve on LANL design teams assessing, maintaining, and upgrading existing facilities and infrastructure at LANL.

• Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in support of facility design, operation, and maintenance.
• Provide construction and project support.
• Apply broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses.
• Scoping and design.
• Regular interfacing and coordination with project stakeholders is required.
• Provide some mentorship, and develop and promote technical leadership, quality, and safety values.
• Perform all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline.
• Perform conventional structural design and analysis.
• Provide system integration within and across disciplines.
• May provide direction to technicians.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team, utilizing engineering technology to accomplish work.
• Continuously improve work processes to meet customer needs.
• Support construction execution, including timely review of submittals, requests for information, design changes, aid in non-conformance issues, validation of commissioning documentation and produce accurate as-built documents.

What You Need:

Educational Requirements:

The position typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and three to five years of practical work experience.

• MS Suit
• Design competency
• HVAC, design, and mechanical skills
• Design package production experience in both HVAC and plumbing systems and /or systems infrastructure.
• Application of building codes, standards and green initiatives to facilities design.
• Ability to prepare calculations, applications of engineering methods, and application of technology-aided engineering tools to the facility and operations-based engineering challenges.
• Ability to communicate well, both written and verbally.
• Blue Beam is preferred but not required.
