This is an entry level, hourly position.
What You Will Bring to This Role:
The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for supervising, training, and inspecting the performance of Hemingway's Restaurant staff, and ensuring that all service standards are being met and assist where necessary to ensure optimum service so that guests’ needs are met.
Some of Your Responsibilities Would Be:
Maintain through knowledge of the Food and Beverage operations including, food, beverages, supervisory aspects, service techniques and guest interactions.
Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant.
Be familiar with all menu items, prices, preparation, method/time, major ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, and texture, serving temperature, portion control, garnish and method of preparation.
Maintain complete knowledge of and abide by state and liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicate persons and drunk driving.
Assign work and side duties to staff in accordance with departmental procedures. Communicate additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift. Ensure that all assigned tasks are completed prior to staff sign out.
Check storage areas frequently for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness. Complete requisition for additional supplies as need and submit to the Director of Operations and/or General Manager.
Provide support to the Banquet Department.
Attend designated meetings, menu, and wine tastings
Prepare weekly schedules for department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Coordinate staff breaks
Constantly monitor staff performance in all phases of service, job functions, ensuring that all procedures are carried out to departmental standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Willing to work a varied schedule to include: days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Minimum of 1-2 years’ supervisory experience.
Minimum of 2 years of full service restaurant experience.
Minimum 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
