Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Referral Specialist to join our team at CCHC New Bern Internal Medicine Specialists. As a Referral Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing patient referrals within a medical office setting. Your role will involve working closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure timely and accurate referral processing.

Duties:
- Process and manage patient referrals in accordance with established protocols and guidelines
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for referrals
- Coordinate appointments and schedule follow-up visits for patients
- Communicate with healthcare providers, specialists, and other medical professionals to facilitate seamless referral processes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all referral activities
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Provide excellent customer service to patients by addressing their inquiries and concerns regarding referrals

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Familiarity with managed care plans and insurance verification processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
