CNO Financial Group’s IT business unit is hiring a Developer-Sitecore is responsible for completing small to medium sized projects with low to moderate supervision. Often the source of advice, the Developer will offer thought leadership to achieve strategies and objectives and resolve impediments. This role should be motivated and ready to mentor newer peers and will have an agile approach and leverage the companies Software Development Life Cycle “SDLC” process. The Developer-Sitecore role will have Domain logic vital to code, design and improve the architecture and stability of the product and will be an embedded member of a team alongside other software developers, business/systems analysts, product owners and quality assurance testers.

As a Developer-Sitecore, your responsibilities will include:

  • Performs standard programming tasks, unit testing, contributes to functional specifications, participates in code reviews, and provide mentorship to newer developers
  • Writes functional specifications for small to medium features: sustaining Application Programming Interfaces (API), integrating basic API packages, and crafting or modifying components within Sitecore
  • Develops HTML and integrates it with Sitecore for the creation of a complete end user experience
  • Performs Analysis Code Review for compliance and coding standards for lower peer pull request
  • Continuous learning and delivery of work assignments, programming coding standards, code repository design patterns, new tools and processes when required
  • Awareness of technical debt and proactively seek opportunities reduce debt/costs
  • Proficient with engineering and programming foundations (frameworks and APIs) to write clearer and shorter code
  • Encouraged to focus on learning and maintaining best practices as adding to the code repository.
  • Understands scope of features, product components, code design patterns

The Developer-Sitecore position is well-suited for you if you have:

  • Prior experience working with Sitecore applications
  • Proficient development experience with more than one of the following: Microsoft .NET, C#, Net/MVC, HTML5 with Bootstrap, JavaScript, and REACT
  • Interested in becoming a Sitecore Certified Professional
  • Showed strength with Debuggers

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or information systems, or 8 years of relevant working experience
  • 3 or more years of relevant development experience
  • Experience working on a Scrum Team
  • Proven experience with programming

What will set you apart:

  • Knowledge of C#, HTML5 with Bootstrap, and REACT
  • Experience with JSS, Helix and established Sitecore implementation methodologies

This role is full time work from home (WFH), also known as Remote. This role can be performed from any US based location within the central or eastern time zone. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States. Associates who live within a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Philadelphia, Orlando and Milwaukee) have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and are encouraged to come into the office at least twice per month.
