CMP Global is Hiring a Production Machine Operator Near Suffolk, VA
CMP Global Inc., a producer of the highest quality sacrificial anodes for the marine industry is seeking a Machine Operator (Mixed Metal Operator) to join the team. The Machine Operator reports to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for working processes in production and will also perform a variety of routine safety, production and housekeeping tasks. Production tasks include but not limited to pouring anodes, making inserts and maintaining accurate transactions in the ERP system.

Responsibilities
- Operate powered equipment as assigned and maintain production equipment
- Operate small machinery, iron maker and press
- Pour zinc and aluminum in open face molds to create sacrificial anodes
- Read and interpret drawings for production
- Measure components and finished goods, stock raw materials and molds on shelves, perform cycle counts
- Receive, put away, pick, pack, ship and inventory merchandise in a safe, productive and accurate manner
- Familiar with bar code labels and scanners
- Re-label product per customer’s requirements
- Track labor and materials using ERP system
- Maintain individual productivity and quality standards according to department requirements and follow all Standard Operating Procedures and safety/security guidance
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Cross-train in multiple areas
- Perform other related duties, special projects or assignments as required
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year machine Operation experience (power tool, press machine, iron maker, band saw and furnaces in a foundry)
- Must be willing to be trained to operate powered equipment as assigned
- Able to follow all Standard Operating Procedures and safety/security guidance
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a hot environment
- Comfortable completing repetitive functions like walking, bending, reaching, stooping, twisting and lifting
- Working knowledge of computer programs like ERPs e.g. (visual – asset/nice to have)
- Licensed to operate powered equipment (Nice to have/ asset)
- Detail oriented, organized, team player, focused, remain on task and can prioritize in a fast paced changing work environment
- Able to communicate effectively with team members and customers in a positive manner
- Possess a can-do attitude and flexible in work schedule to accommodate customer demands
- Reliable transportation
- Available to work overtime as required

- Monday to Friday
- Day shift - 6am-2:30pm
