Description
The Director, Government Relations supports strong cross-functional coordination with respect to CME Group's legislative and regulatory strategies and activities and their implications for CME Group's business lines. They are responsible for managing government relations related projects involving representatives from cross-functional teams. The Manager also supports the development and execution of regulatory strategy.

What You’ll Do
Provide direct support to MD, Government Relations tasked primarily with managing CME Group's regulatory efforts and outreach, particularly that with the CFTC.
Develop and coordinate regular, timely and customized legislative and regulatory communications for internal teams and external stakeholders, including updating periodic reports such as board reports, quarterly risk assessments, and other regular internal reports.
Maintain standardized reporting templates, processes, distribution lists, issue analysis and strategy execution frameworks, and timelines to ensure timely and free flow of information among internal stakeholders and decision-makers, as well as the general employee population, as appropriate.
Monitor for and review relevant regulations and regulatory issues; report on such issues as appropriate.
Follow public meetings provided by regulators as well as provide support for private meetings between CME Group and regulatory agencies, and assist in managing CME Group representation on relevant regulatory committees.
Provide detailed analysis of the implications for business lines and business strategies; identify impacted business lines and coordinate discussions across relevant teams as appropriate.
What You’ll Need
3 years of relevant regulatory or government relations experience preferably at a financial regulator of within financial services.
Knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and policy issues surrounding financial market participants, preferably as it relates to a financial exchange or derivatives markets.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills.
Willingness to collaborate across internal divisions and various stakeholders.
Bachelors degree or higher required.
