Job Title: Assistant Camp Director Job Purpose Assist the Sports Director in the overall operations of the Summer Camp program Ensure smooth daily camp operations by providing a safe and fun environment for children and by providing genuine hospitalityOperationsProvide a fun and safe environment for all participants in the Summer Camp programAssist in the recruiting process and make recommendations for prospective counselorsAttend and contribute to pre-camp training sessions with Camp Counselors and Counselors in TrainingDraft and finalize the counselor work scheduleShow attention to detail while organizing camper's groups by age and abilityAssign counselors, groups and duties on a weekly basisOversee counselor weekly activity schedule and dutiesProvide oversight for lunch orders as neededSupervise swim time in accordance with Westchester Department of Health guidelinesMaintain daily attendance recordsComplete accident and incident reports when necessaryPerform other duties as assignedDepartment Strategy and CommunicationInteract with parents by engaging in conversation and addressing concernsConduct weekly after camp meetings with Camp CounselorsKeep updated staff phone list and scheduleBe knowledgeable of other club departments, programs and eventsAssist with training of new staffRemain polite and courteousMaintain a positive relationship with members, colleagues, Manager and other Club Fit staff, demonstrating a commitment to embracing the neighborhoodDemonstrate accountability and responsibility for own workWear uniform, including club-issued shirt and name tagAdhere to department's operational procedureProfessional and Technical KnowledgeOngoing Club Fit Training in 1HuddleProfessional CertificationCPR PRO Adult Child Infant AEDFirst Aid – Responding to EmergenciesEducation and Experience Experience working in a classroom or camp environment preferredTeaching certification is a major bonusOtherComputer skills required Team WorkPartner with the Manager on Duty (MOD) as the need arisesMaintain a positive attitude toward Club Fit and fellow staff at all timesDemonstrate a commitment to embracing the neighborhood by working with the Club Fit team at internal and external events to promote the Summer Camp programBe punctual for all scheduled shifts or arrange for coverage and inform manager and other staff members accordinglyAcknowledge members and provide timely and efficient service with a smile, ensuring that the members are certain that we care about their well beingAttend meetings with the Sports Director and other Camp staff Perform any or all tasks required to maintain optimal functioning of the departmentJob RequirementsAbility to:Sit, stand and walk around for extended periods of timeLift 10 lbsUnderstand and communicate both verbally and written in EnglishFollow job related directionsWork a flexible schedule as required by business needsUnderstand and comply with all company safety policies and their requirementsAttend training meetings as scheduledReporting StructureDirect Line to Sports Director Pay Range$18-$20/ hr.
