Disability Specialist

Location : work from home ---- Bellview, FL

Duration : 1 year plus extensions

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Disability Specialist to join our team. The Disability Specialist will be responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them navigate various services and resources. The ideal candidate will have a background in behavioral health, social work, or related fields, with experience in crisis management and addiction counseling.

Duties:
- Conduct assessments to determine the needs and eligibility of individuals with disabilities
- Develop individualized service plans based on assessment results
- Provide counseling and support to individuals with disabilities, including crisis intervention and addiction counseling
- Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to coordinate services for individuals with disabilities
- Conduct regular follow-up meetings to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to service plans
- Provide mentoring and guidance to individuals with disabilities, promoting self-advocacy and independence
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all interactions and services provided

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral health, social work, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Experience in crisis management, addiction counseling, or related fields
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Experience in supervising staff is a plus

Note: This is a paid position. Internship positions must also provide compensation.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
