We are currently have an opportunity for a Manager/Director for our growing Accounting Methods (Federal Tax Strategies) team. As a Manager/Director you will: Manage accounting method tax studies including client interviews, reviewing client data, developing client and industry specific tools and templates and preparing technical reports. Possess knowledge of tax accounting methods and inventories, including timing of income and deductions, LIFO inventory implementation and enhancements, application of the uniform capitalization rules, capitalization versus expense issues, and other federal tax issues. Consult on accounting method-related issues including automatic and non-automatic accounting method changes, inventory, revenue recognition, capitalization, cost recovery and accounting periods. Conduct research related to accounting methods and inventory tax issues to maintain and expand your knowledge base. Serve as a firmwide resource for accounting methods and inventory related matters. Develop and sustain excellent client relationships during delivery of tax method services. Collaborate with numerous principals, including industry leaders and other marketing and business personnel throughout the Firm. Assist in managing and implementing multiple projects simultaneously, which includes client consultations, analysis, data gathering and coordination of Federal Tax Strategies personnel and client resources. Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients and the community. Active role in new business development, including add-on business Network and build relationships with various stakeholders within CLA. Assist with managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met. Coach or mentor staff to assist with enhancing their skills and further developing their career. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel. Open to travel and have the ability to travel and work at locations around the Firm and at client locations. Your experience likely includes: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field 6 years' experience working in a professional services industry conducting and managing a broad range of tax method and inventory studies, as well as strong tax research skills or industry experience that would easily be transferrable to this type of role CPA, EA or JD certification required EA is applicable for Director position only Compensation Strategy Statement: Our approach to compensation emphasizes collaboration and career growth. We pay competitive wages and view compensation as an investment in our people. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range. These same factors may cause starting pay to be below or above the posted range. For California, the posted range for this role is $119,000 - $199,000. For Colorado, the posted range for this role is $95,000 - $150,000. For Washington, the posted range for this role is $105,000 - $179,000.
