Clientmind is Hiring a Construction Estimator Near Washington, DC

Clientmind Recruiting is searching for a Construction Estimator for a well established construction company. This role is supporting Federal and Commercial customers in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area. This role can be remote, but will require some on-site visit in DC/Baltimore/northern VA area.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and coordinate estimating activities on assigned construction projects in support of federal and commercial customers
  • Attend on-site pre-bid/proposal conferences and visits as required. Project sites may be located in Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia.
  • Prepare scopes of work, specifications, and requirements for in-house trades and prospective subcontractors.
  • Perform quantity take-offs in accordance with pricing books, prepares cost summary sheets, and inputs quantities into estimating software programs.
  • Foster relationships with local vendors. Prepare sub bid documents. Accept, review, and analyze subcontractor proposals for compliance with vendor invitation for bid, scope of work, and specifications. Evaluate on a best value basis.

Qualifications

*Experience estimating for jobs $10M and up*

  • Experience in the construction industry with a commercial and/or institutional general contractor engaged in general building and construction
  • Demonstrated understanding of building plans, specifications, and construction means and methods associated with the renovation and construction of commercial and institutional buildings and related site work.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and architects/engineers is important.
