Cleveland State University is Hiring a Program Manager, Center for Economic Development Near Cleveland, OH
Manages and plans the research and policy development activities of the Center for Economic Development (CED). Participates in identifying and developing external funding sources and potential clients to support CED programs. Manages portfolio of complex, long-term projects including formulating a research question, creating a methodology for analysis, and conducting complex analyses about the research project. Participates in developing CED budget. Serves as CED’s expert in survey methodology and in maintaining the proprietary Quarterly Census of Employment and Wage (QCEW) data from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree, preferably in economic development, economics, urban studies, or related field.
Three (3) years of experience in applied research and major project grant writing.
Two (2) years of experience managing a research program.
Experience in client relationships, leadership, and budget management.
Experience in project and/or program management and budget management.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. degree, preferably in economic development, economics, urban studies, or related field.
Operational experience in leveraging streams of external funding.
experience securing grants and contract funding opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Skilled in project management of multiple concurrent projects, problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence, and persuasion.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong public speaking and presentation skills, and ability to effectively communicate change.
Excellent interpersonal skills, “Customer Focus” attitude, and ability to work effectively in a team environment with a diverse constituency of clients from public and not-for-profit sectors.
Detailed oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze, and organize information, have effective project, and time management skills and be well organized.
Ability to lead major research projects.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
