Optometrist - Full or Part Time

Under the administrative supervision of the Low Vision Clinic Practice Manager, provide clinical evaluations for patients referred for routine eye examinations as well as for specialized vision testing for low vision/blindness
Job Duties:
1. Perform eye examinations, dilations and refractions that meet all required licensing and practice standards.
2. Prescribe glasses as well as recommend visual aids and techniques.
3. Refer patients for additional services as appropriate.
4. Utilize Electronic Medical Record concurrently while serving patient.
5. Use testing and diagnostic equipment to perform a thorough and efficient examination.
6. Complete reports of evaluation and recommendations in a timely fashion and enter case notes into charting / records system.
7. Assure that adequate testing equipment and supplies are available for efficient and effective patient care by informing administrative / supervisory staff of deficiencies.
8. Maintain valid license to practice Optometry in the State of Ohio and possess the necessary and appropriate insurance.
9. Submit information required to be added to insurance panels for insurance contracts serviced by Cleveland Sight Center.
Must Have's:
Education: Doctor of Optometry with training in medical and optical aspects of low vision. Must possess current and valid license to practice Optometry in the State of Ohio.
Experience: Experience in teaching / presenting low vision concepts to professional and lay audiences is helpful.
Skills: Clinical skills necessary to complete a thorough vision examination including refraction and dilation as well as other diagnostic assessments. Must be proficient at using the computer and able to use an Electronic Medical Record while concurrently serving the patient.
Physical: Must possess sufficient physical and visual acuity to independently perform specific responsibilities outlined below.
