This position is responsible to provide primary support and oversight to the Nurse Home Visitors, administrative coordination for the Nurse-Family Partnership program and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed and supervised under the Public Health Nursing Director. The normal work schedule includes Monday through Friday 8:00-5:00 p.m.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Recruitment, hiring and training of all Nurse Home Visitors and Administrative Data support staff.
Assign and monitor Nurse Home Visitor's caseloads.
Plan, monitor and expend budget to ensure compliance with fidelity to NFP model and contract agreements.
Develop and maintain community referral sources for the NFP Program.
Develop and maintain appropriate materials for the community and client.
Read and interpret NFP reports.
Provide regular case conferences and team meetings as recommended by NFP.
Ensure rewards and incentives are aligned with goals of program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
This position requires thorough knowledge and skill in the administration and organization of a public health nursing program. Thorough knowledge of principles of public health nursing and supervision of public health staff and programs is essential, as well as thorough knowledge of available and related public health resources and organizations in North Carolina, knowledge of current social and economic issues relating to public health, considerable knowledge of public health administration on the local level, and considerable knowledge of educational methods and training techniques.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Graduated from a 4-year College or University with a M.S. Degree in Nursing and 4 years of nursing experience and 2 years of public health experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel and occasionally requires sitting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
Valid driver's license.
This position is a part of a Health and Human Services Department. By General Statue 166A-19.3, Departments of Health and Human Services are agencies that are a part of the State Emergency Response Team for occurrences or imminent threat of widespread or severe damage, injury, or loss of life or property resulting from any natural or man-made accidental, military, paramilitary, terrorism, weather-related, public health, explosion-related, riot-related cause, or technological failure or accident, including, but not limited to, a cyber incident, an explosion, a transportation accident, a radiological accident, or a chemical or other hazardous material incident. In the event that the State Emergency Response Team is activated, this position will be required to participate if deemed necessary.
