Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Physician to join our Orthopaedic Surgery Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background, a demonstrated commitment to academic medicine, and expertise in sports medicine, with a focus on surgical intervention for sports-related injuries. The vision of Cleveland Clinic Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Program is to become the global leader in athletic care, and the ideal candidate will be an integral part of making this vision a reality.
The Sports Medicine Program consists of 10 surgeons, 14 Sports & Exercise Medicine physicians and 9 advanced practice providers. In 2023, the team completed 50,000 E&Ms and 3,300 surgeries. The Sports Medicine Program also provides coverage for 59 high schools, 5 colleges and 2 professional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
? Provide comprehensive and exceptional orthopaedic care to patients with sports-related injuries, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
? Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals, to optimize patient outcomes and rehabilitation.
? Participate in research initiatives and clinical trials aimed at advancing the field of orthopaedic sports medicine.
? Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows through lectures, workshops, and hands-on teaching experiences.
Qualifications:
? Medical degree from an accredited institution.
? Board certification or eligibility in Orthopaedic Surgery.
? Fellowship training in Sports Medicine.
? Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine.
? Active medical license in the state of Ohio or eligibility for licensure.
? Demonstrated proficiency in surgical techniques relevant to sports medicine.
? Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with patients, colleagues, and staff.
