Position Summary

The Training and Professional Development Specialist (TPD) is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive training and professional development programs to enhance the skills, knowledge, and competencies of staff across multiple programs/departments. Working closely with the HR Director, the TPD Specialist will conduct needs assessments, develop tailored training curricula, and facilitate engaging learning experiences. Additionally, the TPD Specialist will monitor program effectiveness to build sustainable organizational capacity and foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.

Some of the duties include:

· Conduct thorough research and needs assessments to identify training gaps, learning objectives, and professional development needs across the agency

· Design, develop, and customize training curricula, materials, and resources tailored to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of staff

· Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions, workshops, and seminars both in-person and virtually

· Monitor, evaluate, and analyze the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, surveys, and performance metrics

· Recommend improvements to existing training programs based on evaluation results and organizational feedback

· Coordinate and deliver comprehensive training for new staff orientation, ensuring a seamless integration into the organization

· Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement based on evaluation results and organizational feedback

· Collaborate closely with the HR team and program/department leaders to ensure alignment of training initiatives with agency goals and priorities

· Foster partnerships and networks with external training providers, industry experts, and professional associations to enhance program quality and relevance

· Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant attendance, evaluations, and program outcomes

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development or a related discipline, with 5 years’ experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating training and professional development programs, preferably in a cross-agency or multi-departmental setting. Certification in Training and Development (e.g., CPLP, ATD) is a plus. Additionally, the candidate must hold a valid Ohio Driver's License and provide proof of insurance. This role requires a proven track record of delivering high-quality training programs, a deep understanding of adult learning principles, and the ability to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
