Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Quality Analyst. As the Quality Analyst/ Order Entry Analyst (OSA), Central Quality, you will be responsible for performing a high-level purchase order review in which customer purchase orders and automotive contracts are translated into internal specification nomenclature, evaluated for qualification status, and reviewed against mill capability and/or inquired. Based on these criteria, the OSA will suggest allocation to one or more facilities and work closely with Corporate Planning, Sales, Plant QA, and Operations. This position will also initiate and follow-up on inquiries to Plant Quality and work on different team projects within the Quality department. A successful candidate for this position needs to have the ability to work independently as well as with a team to meet internal metrics, ensure external customer satisfaction, and work towards internal standardization.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Review of customer purchase orders (PO’s) and material contracts for discrepancies of technical requirements
Troubleshoot conflict issues between SAP sales orders and Plant legacy (production) orders
Review and comprehendcustomer, agency, and internal specificationsto ensure compliance and assignment of capable/qualified facilities to one-time orders and forecasted materials.
Regular follow-up of “Held” Sales Orders / Parts requiring clarification from either the customer or Plant Quality group. Work with Inside Sales or Account Manager to obtain the necessary confirmation or PO revision to release the order.
Enter inquiries to Plant Quality for technical questions or size limitation approval.
Review repeated PO’s that have bypassed the OSA technical review to ensure correct values have been assigned on the Sales Order.
Review and resolve Sales Orders that have been identified by the Error Order Review system.
Review the customer PO specification and grade requirements to confirm the correct Book/Spec/Grade has been applied to the Sales order.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent experience (2 Years).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Knowledge of Hot Roll, Cold Rolled, and Coated steel products.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Proficient in using a legacy business system.
Quality Assurance and/or Customer Specification knowledge
Customer Service or Planning background
Flat Carbon steel product or process experience
Familiarity with Microsoft Access or SQL
