Job Overview:
Line Leaders oversees the manufacturing activities within their production cell/department. Line Leaders are responsible for product quality and meeting daily/weekly production output goals and WPLH rates. Line Leaders are required to assemble, train, and lead by example for the production operators. They assure their cell/dept has all the tools and materials necessary to complete their scheduled production. They must focus on continuous improvement opportunities and push to maintain lean manufacturing practices. Line Leaders are responsible for keeping their line a safe work environment, clean and organized.
Responsibilities:
· Enforce safety requirements, including workers wearing proper PPE
· Responsible for production output, count accuracy, and completing MO’s
· Ensure schedule is followed on their line
· Provide direction for implementation of any schedule changes
· Communicate any obstacles or issues on floor in a timely fashion to Production Supervisor
· Strong process orientation, production competence, and time management skills
· Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
· Provide a clear sense of direction and focus prior to each shift
· Train cell workers and assure all SOPs are followed as required
· Lead cell/dept to assure efficient production and keep scrap as low as possible
· Notify Production Supervisor of any obstacles to achieving production rates or quality
· Inspect equipment/tools for defects and notify maintenance of any required repairs
· Knowledge of every position on line with ability to guide assembly procedures
· Maintain a clean and organized cell/dept area
· Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
· Assure all documents and labels are completed per SOPs
· Responsible for quality of all products produced in cell/dept. Perform quality checks throughout shift
· Strong team building, decision-making, and people skills
· Conduct reviews with their team members according to company policy.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
