Description

Function: 

The position of rigging engineer will involve designing, engineering, and executing systems for rigging of productions. This position will also support and assist with systems related to rigging. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Primary responsibilities are for the infrastructure used in rigging systems.

• Drafting in Vectorworks all shows requiring rigging deployments. 

• Use Brace works or similar software's to calculate loads before deployment of systems.

• Work with third party companies to get rigging stamps as needed for live events.

• Works closely with Clearwing’s rigging team to ensure that systems function correctly. Provides technical support for rigging systems. 

• Provide support to the others in the Design/Engineering team as necessary, providing technical support and insight into specific products' capabilities and limitations. Assists in the development of companywide rigging standards. 

• Coordinates, and manages the repair of equipment with internal and external service technicians. Provide necessary preventative maintenance to reduce risk to assets.

• Monitor rigging equipment using both traditional and online tools and provide guidance for those working with the equipment.

• Recommends upgrades to gear including replacement of systems and equipment.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications: 

• Extensive knowledge of rigging systems and infrastructure. 

• ETCP – Arena or Theatrical Rigging 

• Brace works

• Vectorworks 

• Ability to read and understand necessary documentation. 

Physical Working Conditions: 

• Regularly bend, twist, stretch, push, pull and carry, lift 50-75 lbs. 

• Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. 

• Walk up and down stairs or ladders and comfortable with heights. 

• Work in various temperatures and outdoor weather conditions. 

• Work "on-call" as needed including some nights, weekends, and holidays. 

• Work long hours and overtime as required. 

• Able to Travel (possibly with short notice).
