Clean Water Action is a non-profit focusing on campaigns related to water access, water quality, and environmental justice. We have over 150,000 members in Michigan and we work to empower people to take action to protect America's waters, build healthy communities and to make democracy work for all of us. Our recent victories include passing a drinking water standard for PFAs in Michigan, putting a moratorium in place on water shut-offs during the pandemic, and funding lead pipe replacement.

For 50 years Clean Water Action has succeeded in winning some of the nation's most important environmental protections through grassroots organizing, expert policy research and political advocacy focused on holding elected officials accountable to the public.

Right now, we are working on a special election project. We are working to pass a transit initiative, which would expand the quality and access to public transit across Metro Detroit. We are also working to ensure that candidates with strong voting records on our issues are elected or re-elected.

As part of our staff, you would organize communities around these vital issues. Responsibilities include one-on-one communication with the public, dispersing information, volunteer recruitment, education of voters, and good record keeping and attention to detail.

The hours for the work are from 2pm to 10:30pm, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of adding weekend shifts if there is interest. Pay for full time is $680 per week. We are currently interviewing for full or part time (2 days/week ) positions starting immediately. Proof of vaccination will be required for applicants for this position. All staff utilizing the office are required to wear masks and social distancing is observed. N95 or KN95 masks and sanitizer are provided.
