Fired up? We are hiring passionate environmentalists and activists to help build grassroots momentum around environmental public advocacy campaigns! During election years, we work hard to do the same for strong progressive candidates at the local, state, and federal level. This is the perfect part-time position for college students who want to get paid to help make a difference after they're done with classes for the day!

Clean Water Action is mobilizing our members to put pressure on the US Congress and Executive Branch to enact strong environmental and public health protections. We're also working on the local environmental issues happening right here in our state! In Philadelphia, we are the group behind the Plastic Bag Ban, and we are currently organizing to pass a stronger version of the bill.

In this role, you will develop your professional organizing skills in efforts to build power for our grassroots campaigns. Some examples are stronger regulations and transparency in the fracking industry, protection of rivers, lakes, and streams from industrial pollution, and getting the best political candidates for the environment put in office.

We're looking for candidates with:

• Desire for social and political change
• Strong verbal communication skills, especially with one-on-one interactions
• Strong attention to detail
• Team-oriented attitude
• Interest in environmental or social justice issues, non-profit work, or politics. We provide extensive training on the job responsibilities and the issues we cover. There are opportunities for travel to conferences and other offices in our network, and the potential for long-term growth within the organization.

Hours for this role are from 2pm-9pm, Monday through Friday, with a minimum requirement of three days per week

COMPENSATION:

• Paid training
• $21.00/hr plus bonus
