POSITION SUMMARY:

Supports in various duties assigned to the Warehouse Department and other Facility Services Departments as needed. Knowledge in processing paperwork electronically utilizing Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google applications. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pulling supply orders from warehouse stock and staging for future delivery. These orders may include Custodial Supplies, Furniture, School Nutrition items, Textbooks or other items requested from school locations. Sanitation and cleaning of work area and other areas of warehouse, daily as needed.

Assists with Textbook operation as needed. These duties may include: Placing Barcode labels on all new textbooks, Assist with sorting and packing of textbooks for delivery, Place textbooks on shelves for stock, assist with Inventorying of textbooks, delivering textbooks, counting and separating textbooks upon inbound deliveries, and other related textbook duties.

Loading / unloading delivery vehicles and assists Technician/CDL Driver making deliveries, pickups, and transfers to school locations throughout the district. Operates manual and electric pallet jacks, as well as forklifts once proper training and certification of use of equipment is obtained.

Assists with District and emergency and/or general assignments as operationally necessary.

All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or GED required; trade specific certificate preferred. 

Minimum of one (1) year of warehouse experience preferred.

Makes repair decisions which impact the schools/buildings within the district.

Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.

Makes decisions and recommendations under the guidance of Warehouse Supervisor

Requires contact with internal and external personnel of influence and decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of importance

Requires minimal managerial skills

Familiarity with computer applications preferred 

Minimal-major depending on task being performed

Variable work environment – Facility Services Complex, school grounds, and all buildings; subjected to a wide range of weather conditions and temperatures.

May be on call after normal work hours (24 hours a day, seven days a week) and in emergency situations.

Walking, standing, kneeling, driving for eight (8) hours per day; must be able to climb a thirty (30) foot ladder and negotiate stairs.

Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds frequently and one (100) pounds occasionally.

Before being extended an offer of employment, selected candidates will be notified by the district to undergo the required physical examination for this position. Applicants are responsible for the initial cost of the physical examination ($150-$200), and only candidates who pass and hired for this position will be reimbursed for the associated fees within 45 days of hire.

NOTE: This is a grade 18, 225 day position that pays for experience up to a Step 4.
