Desired Qualifications:
- Good standing active member of the State Bar of Texas;
- 3-7 years of defense litigation experience preferred;
- Excellent oral and written communications skills;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Self-starter with proven ability to work independently.
Responsibilities:
- With the supervision of a partner, the candidate for this position will handle the legal process from investigation to trial. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:
- Regular communications with the client, building and establishing relationships;
- Advising on status of case, arbitrations and proceedings;
- Responding to and preparing discovery;
- Preparing legal analysis memorandums, briefing and reports;
- Conducting and defending depositions;
- Responding to and preparing motions and engaging in motion practice;
- Appearing before the Court;
- Preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, arbitrations, pretrial proceedings and trial; and
- Preparing post-trial motions and appeals, if required.
