Classic Automation is Hiring an Electronics Refurbishment Technician-Solder Technician Near Webster, NY

Summary: Responsible for and under the guidance of the repair technicians, primary duties include refurbishing industrial controller parts to both a component and cosmetic level by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Works closely with test and repair technicians to efficiently process customer orders.*

2. Replaces both surface mount and through-hole components using standard soldering equipment on printed circuit boards to aid in product repair and refurbishment.*

3. Solders and replaces components for repair technicians.*

4. Use general hand tools to disassemble and refurbish used industrial controllers.*

5. Communicates with other departments for thorough understanding of requests.*

6. Maintains stock levels of components, touch screens and membranes or any materials needed by the repair department, and orders and refurbishes parts for stock on a regular basis.*

7. Orders components for the repair department.*

8. Assists processing repair orders received from warehouse when necessary.*

9. Demonstrates receptiveness to learning new skills.*

10. Maintains a clean and organized workspace.*

11. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Equipment:

· Soldering iron/station

· Digital multi-meters

· General hand tools

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

· Experience with digital multi-meters

· Experience with soldering with both through-holes and surface mount components

· Time management

· Written and oral communication

· Troubleshooting and problem solving

· Quality focused

· Self-motivated

· Ability to work in a team environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock . The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, looking downward with head forward, looking and working at desk repair item in seated position, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of radiation, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
