Position-Health Unit Coordinator

We currently hiring a Health Unit Coordinator to join our Emergency Department. One who will represent Clark Fork Valley Hospital in a positive and professional manner to all of our patients and visitors.

You would be joining a supportive work environment where every employee is valued. In this position, you will enjoy working alongside hard working dedicated people who strive to make a difference in our community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • First contact with patient to welcome and assist them with their needs. Escort guests to appropriate rooms and areas.
  • Interview patient / family member to gather pertinent admission information. Accurately input information into information system.
  • Organize, explain, and gather appropriate paperwork and signatures for all registrations, route to chart or other areas as required.
  • Preparation of daily hospital census and other daily, weekly, monthly statistical reports, route to areas as required.
  • Scheduling follow-up appointments with providers or other areas as needed.
  • Ordering of office supplies as needed in area.
  • Produce daily log of discharged patients and emergency patients from the previous day for provider contact.
  • Complete and copy any necessary paperwork such as; transfer sheet, consents, anti-dumping, patient health information, as necessary for patient transports.

Minimum Qualifications : The ability to meet an excellent standard of customer and patient service for this facility is essential.

Excellent communication, organization, and general business skills are required, along with independent problem solving, personal responsibility and teamwork.

Typing / keyboarding, computer, faxing, copying, printing skills and experience are required. The ability to cope well and multitask at the highest standards under pressure is crucial in this position.

Schedule- 20 / hrs. Weekly Compensation- $13.04 $20.60 / hr.

The area is also well-known for its outstanding elk, sheep and deer hunting. Glacier National Park, the "Crown of the Continent," is only two hours away for four-season enjoyment.

The beautiful Clark Fork River, nearby Flathead Lake and Lake Pend Oreille provide excellent opportunities for the sail boating, water skiing or lake fishing enthusiast.

Clark Fork has excellent schools in a hometown atmosphere. And it's close to the "big city," with Missoula just 75 miles away and Spokane, Washington, 150 miles away.
