SUMMARY

Under the general direction and supervision of the Nurse or Team Leader, the Nurse Aide assists the professional nursing staff by performing routine duties, within the scope of established methods and techniques, in caring for hospitalized patients / long term care residents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides ADL assistance to residents including but not limited to bathing, feeding, hygiene care, ROM and ambulation as applicable to their area of work.
  • Demonstrates competencies within their scope of practice.
  • Adheres to recognized infection control standards.
  • Reinforces the individualized patient / resident / family education plans.
  • Professionally conveys clinical information to other team members.
  • Participates in departmental and hospital wide quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) activities.
  • Follows all standards that are applicable to their specialty or area of work.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

Completion of approved CNA program with obtainment of State Certification; 3-6 months of related experience preferred.
