Farm Bureau Insurance is Hiring an Insurance Sales Agent / Agency Owner Near Ann Arbor, MI

Compensation: 

  • As an Agency Owner, you have unlimited income potential (this role is commission-only with generous start-up funds).
  • $48,000 Start Up Fund & $12,000 Business Accelerator Fund to expedite the growth of your book of business.
  • New Agents can earn up to 3x new business commission in the first 5 years

Travel:  Must be willing to travel throughout Southeast Michigan.

Job Type: Full-Time 1099 contract position

The Benefits of Being a Farm Bureau Agent / Agency Owner:

  • $48,000 Start Up Fund ($4,000 a month for first 2 months of training) plus a $12,000 Business Accelerator Fund
  • Earn up to 3x new commission for the first 5 years (i.e. $1,000 in base commission earnings in a month = $3,000 in paid commissions by the company!)

Insurance Sales Agent / Agency Owner Role Summary:

You will be in business for yourself, but not by yourself with business and peer coaching from successful Agents and Managing Partners. Insurance Sales Agent / Agency Owner Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive personal insurance policies (including home, auto, boat, umbrella, and life insurance) to individuals, and commercial insurance policies to small and mid-sized businesses
  • Explore opportunities to offer additional coverage such as health insurance and unique insurance licenses (e.g., luxury car insurance)
  • Expand and manage your team of sales professionals and customer service representatives to increase your book of business and ensure effective account service
  • Assist clients with inquiries and guide them through the renewal process, adopting a comprehensive advisory approach rather than focusing solely on cost
  • Focus on building long-lasting client relationships, providing educated advice on insurance plans that best suit their needs

Insurance Sales Agent / Agency Owner Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to take and pass the exam to obtain a Michigan State Life & Health License
  • Excellent communication skills, including both written and verbal
  • Good at building long-lasting relationships
  • No business bankruptcies within the last 12 months and no prior felony convictions (must be able to pass our background check requirements)
  • Interest in insurance and educating customers on their plan options
