Overview of the Position Responsibilities: The Sr. Analyst, Data Science and Marketing Analytics role offers an exciting growth opportunity for an experienced Data Scientist to join Bluepeak’s Marketing Science organization as an IC3-level professional. Responsibilities include developing advanced predictive and segmentation models, designing and carrying out complex marketing analytics initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to help drive the business and maximize performance of the company. The ideal candidate will have experience with current data and analytics platforms and will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in programming, data visualization, and a demonstrated ability draft data-driven narratives into actionable recommendations.

What You Will Do:

  • Predictive Modeling: Develop and deploy advanced statistical models to describe and predict customer behavior, including propensity for acquisition, upsell and cross-sell, and churn. Evaluate the performance of predictive models using appropriate metrics and validation techniques. Continuously monitor and refine models to ensure their accuracy, robustness, and generalizability.
  • Advanced Analytics: Identify research topics and questions that will have meaningful business impact. Design and conduct in-depth customer analysis to explain business performance, identify trends, and surface actionable insights and opportunities for driving improved results. Utilize statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to extract meaningful patterns in the company’s data.
  • Data Visualization: Explore and visualize data to uncover insights and communicate findings to stakeholders effectively in ways that facilitate understanding and decision-making by the business.
  • Marketing Performance Optimization: Lead out in adoption of A/B testing and experimental design practices to measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and drive continuous improvement in marketing performance. Collaborate with marketing teams to optimize campaign targeting, messaging, and channel selection based on data-driven insights.
  • Customer Segmentation: Using appropriate statistical methods, develop and maintain customer segmentation models to enable tailored marketing strategies to different customer segments.
  • Data Integration and Feature Engineering: Work closely with data engineering teams to integrate data from various sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity. Deploy current advanced methods to derive new features from existing data to strengthen predictive and explanatory power of propensity and segmentation models.
  • Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep abreast of the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and marketing analytics. Apply emerging techniques and best practices to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of data science projects within the organization.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document methodologies, findings, and best practices for reproducibility and knowledge sharing purposes. Share insights and expertise with team members to foster a culture of learning and collaboration within the Marketing Science organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, and business intelligence, to align data science initiatives with business objectives and priorities. Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • All other related duties as assigned.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees and relevant certifications (e.g., Data Science, Machine Learning) are a plus.
  • Experience: 4 years’ experience working in a marketing or sales analytics role, or related areas, with progressive predictive analytics experience required.
  • Advanced Data Analysis: Proficiency in statistical analysis, data mining, and exploratory data analysis techniques. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Predictive Modeling: Experience in developing and deploying predictive models using machine learning algorithms such as regression, classification, clustering, and ensemble methods. Familiarity with model evaluation techniques and best practices for model validation and performance optimization.
  • Programming Proficiency: Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and model development. Experience with libraries and frameworks such as pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Data Visualization: Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques to create informative and visually appealing dashboards, reports, and presentations. Experience with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/seaborn for data visualization. Experience with ThoughtSpot a strong plus.
  • Database and SQL: Proficiency in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and retrieval. Experience working with SQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
  • Data and Analytics Platforms: Exposure to and experience with at least one big data platforms such as AWS, Azure, Databricks, Qubole, Snowflake, etc.
    Marketing Analytics: Understanding of marketing principles, metrics, and KPIs. Experience with marketing analytics techniques such as customer segmentation, campaign analysis, and ROI measurement.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders from various departments, including marketing, finance, IT, and operations. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, influence and partner with business leaders in multiple functional areas
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with a creative, analytical, and action-oriented mindset. Ability to approach complex problems systematically, break them down into manageable components, and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and marketing analytics. Willingness to explore new techniques, tools, and methodologies to improve skills and enhance job performance.

Salary Range: $91,000 - $130,000
