Position Overview
Responsible for the operation of transit buses to carry passengers to various destinations within the service area in a safe, timely, and professional manner. Transit operators provide critical services to the community, supporting the mission to enhance quality of life, bolster mobility, and create opportunities through transit.
Paid training is provided at Clallam Transit System for obtaining the required Commercial Driver License (CDL).
Compensation
$25.49-34.46 per hour: Starting wage is $25.49 per hour, moving to $27.08 per hour after successful completion of the 180-day probationary period. Operators receive pay increases on their anniversaries up to $34.46 per hour (2024-2026 wage scale) and annual cost of living increases.
Required Qualifications
A high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate (GED)
A valid WA driver's license or ability to obtain
Five consecutive years of licensed driving experience

Working Conditions
This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with CTS policy and federal regulations. Represented by the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 587.
