CL Construction is Hiring a Project Accountant Near Lincoln, NE

As a Project Accountant at CL Construction, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity of our projects. You will be responsible for various accounting tasks, primarily focusing on job and budget management, credit card processing, equipment usage tracking, consumables management, and accounts payable entry. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Controller, Accounting Assistant, and other team members to support the financial operations of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enter and update project budgets in the accounting system as needed.
  • Process credit card transactions related to project expenses.
  • Review credit card statements for accuracy and ensure proper allocation of expenses to respective projects.
  • Reconcile credit card accounts regularly and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Enter equipment usage.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of company-owned equipment and tools.
  • Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently as needed.
  • Verify invoices for completeness and accuracy before entry into the system.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve any billing issues or discrepancies.
  • Assist the Controller in preparing financial reports and analyses.
  • Provide support to the Accounting Assistant in performing various accounting tasks, including data entry and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
  • Assist with tracking Accounts Receivable as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with construction accounting principles and practices is a plus.
