Civil Construction Contractors, LLC is an industrial contractor located in Hahnville, LA that has been in the industry for over 40 years. Civil Construction Contractors, LLC is seeking a SAFETY TECHNICIAN for a minimum 2-year position to monitor and manage field safety on a project site located in Braithwaite, Louisiana.
This is an open position for which we are asking for someone with enough experience to be able to perform their job duties without direct oversight including prior experience overseeing work in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in petrochemical. Candidates need to be proficient at overseeing company, client, OSHA, and onsite safety programs, documenting all field safety observations, and communicating with the Safety Manager.

Responsibilities:
· Facilitate the organization's safety & health ownership through the integration of the safety & health management system by working with site management and craft employees.
· Ensure compliance with company, client, OSHA, and other applicable standards at all company sites.
· Implement safety Company and Client standards or procedures within the assigned site by auditing and observations on employees and company sub-contractors on a daily basis.
· Monitor the work sites to ensure all safety protocols are applied, document all observations, and report to the Safety Manager.
· Being observant and detail-oriented to mitigate any potential hazards.
· Participate in accident, incident, and near-miss investigations.
· Assist the Safety Manager with case management.
· Maintain good verbal, written, technological, and communication skills.
· Maintain good documentation and organizational skills.
· Complete all assigned tasks with complete understanding and within a timely manner.
· Present themselves in a professional, safe manner at all times.
Requirements:
· A.S., B.S. in a Safety-related discipline or recognized certification is preferred.
· 1-5 years of experience in an Industrial Setting with knowledge of Civil Work.
o Previous Safety experience preferred.
· Proficient in 29 CFR 1926 and 29 CFR 1910.
· Computer/Technology literately required.
· Transportation to/from the job site.
· Valid Driver’s License and TWIC card required.
· Clean driving record.
· Ability to pass any Drug Testing and Background Check criteria.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to communicate fluently and effectively.
· Ability to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment, including FRC clothing, respirators, harness with lanyard, hardhat, and other equipment required for personal safety.
· Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to work in various conditions including heights, heat, cold, dust, fumes, gases, and changes in weather.
· Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and structures and work at above-grade or below-ground elevations.
Job Details:
· Full-Time – Monday-Friday – 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Weekends when needed)
