Position Summary

The candidate must process and operate the day-to-day record keeping functions of the court and the collection of fines and costs assessed by the court; attend all Municipal Court which are currently held on the first Wednesday evening of each month (unless rescheduled); and maintain confidentiality as required by law. The City Administrator will oversee the administrative functions of this position; the Municipal Judge will direct judicial functions and the Court Administrator will oversee the daily performance of duties.

Duties, Responsibilities and Requirements

• Answer phone calls and handle court issues with defendants and attorneys
• Perform the daily functions required of the position; such as preparing case jackets, correspondence and dockets.

Maintaining/documenting records, collecting fines and court cost, data entering, and so on.

• Knowledge of the REJIS IMDS PLUS & Show me Court court systems is preferred.
• Perform duties and responsibilities defined by the Court Administrator.
• This position includes contact with public on a frequent basis.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma
• Experience as a court clerk.
• Experience with IMDS/Plus court system.
• Experience with Show Me Court court system.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite/Word
• Good communication and customer service skills

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will stand, sit; inclusive of a lot of up and down from sitting to walking, bend, stoop, walk, and reach.

The employee will occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds or less.

The employee must speak, listen, comprehend and write English.
