City of Tyler is Hiring an Accounting Technician Near TX 75702, TX
- Daily mail distribution in Finance and throughout the City.
- Answering phones.
- Helping in-person customers/employees/vendors.
- Scheduling appointments for Finance Staff.
- File as needed.
- Help with year-end records retention as needed.
- Gather data and prepare reports as needed.
- The candidate must be highly organized and pay attention to detail.
- Must have good attendance and a positive attitude.
- Must be able to work as a team member in an office setting.
- Must be able to use standard office equipment, including a computer, fax, calculator, phone, copier, scanner, etc.
- Must be able to sit up to 6 hours daily; stand 1 hour daily; walk 30 minutes daily; lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20lbs. 15 minutes daily; bend, stoop, twist, turn, and climb up to 15 minutes daily.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma required. Must have at least one (1) year of experience in an office environment, customer service and be able to work as a team member in an office setting. Prefer an applicant to be able to type 30 WPM (net) and have experience with Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
The City of Tyler will accept two years of relevant experience in place of each year of college required in the job description. Four years of relevant experience will be considered in place of an Associate's Degree, and eight years of relevant experience will be considered in place of a Bachelor's Degree. Any experience required in the Minimum qualifications is in addition to years of experience substituted for a degree.
The City of Tyler supports a policy of a drug and alcohol free workplace. All candidates are subject to pre-employment testing, which may include, but is not limited to, Drug and Alcohol Screenings, Work Fitness Evaluation, Criminal Background Check, and Consumer Report/Credit Check.
No person under eighteen (18) years of age will be employed in any regular full-time position.
Persons under eighteen (18) years of age may be employed in temporary or regular part-time positions, if they furnish the City with a minor's release (Form 2-2) and are approved by the City Manager.
No person under eighteen (18) years of age will be employed in any position requiring the operation of a City motorized vehicle.
