This Position is assigned to General Fleet as follows:
5/8 schedule, Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.Performs journey-level automotive repairs and maintenance on all other city vehicles and equipment.
SUMMARY
Incumbents perform journey-level repairs and maintenance on a wide variety of automotive, small equipment, and heavy duty trucks and equipment. Incumbents assist Fleet Technicians III with fire pumpers and special apparatus equipment; and mentor Fleet Technicians I on solid waste vehicles, construction equipment, bucket trucks, and other heavy-duty applications.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED, and four years of journey level experience in the repair and maintenance of light duty/heavy duty vehicles OR two years of journey level experience in the repair and maintenance of light duty/heavy duty vehicles and completion of an accredited automotive or diesel training program at a trade school or community college. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
