NATURE OF WORKThis classification involves specialized and limited law enforcement and public safety work involving crowd control, traffic control, and the protection of life.An incumbent in this classification is responsible for performing tasks of more than average difficulty involving the protection of life and property. After completion of an initial training period, the incumbent is responsible for enforcing federal, state and local laws, and performing related police activities. Under general supervision of a Police Sergeant or other designated supervisor, the incumbent is required to exercise independent judgment as well as tact, courtesy and self-control in performance of duties. The incumbent is also expected to make decisions calmly and quickly in emergency or hazardous situations. Reserve Police Officers will be assigned to work various hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. This classification is designated solely as part-time. This is not a full-time position.Regular Rate: $31.54 per hourSpecial Detail Rate: $40.00 per hour (Based on Assignment)
