JOB
Responsible for supporting all aspects of (SDHHS) Springfield Department of Health and Human Services clinical software programs. Serves as a liaison between IT vendors and SDHHS Database Core Committee to provide disease surveillance case management system implementation and maintenance, hands-on configuration and end user support. Configures database functions to support care processes (including documentation, ordering, reporting, alerts and notification actions). Work is performed under the supervision of the Public Health Commissioner. No supervision is exercised over other employees.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Serve as the SDHHS Database, MAVEN (Massachusetts Virtual Epidemiologist Network), EMR eClinicalWorks, Serves as back up EMR & PM systems subject matter expert for all practice management operations.Submit daily COVID disease surveillance reports from MAVEN that enables local health departments to capture and transfer appropriate public health clinical data to Commissioner Format, design, and build relevant content for online forms, mapping data collection and clinical workflows documentation.Engage with other city departments and document requirements for new implemented software/database for reportingIdentify data integrity issues and make recommendations.Suggests and implements solutions for the SDHHS Database and EMR platform.Performs interface mapping for demographic, appointments, charges, and software interfaces to ensure accurate data flow between multiple systems.Develop a deep understanding of internal systems and related datasets to help solutions and handle support issuesCoordinate and provide SDHHS training to staff on an ongoing basis.Attend QI Committee meetings and assist on quality improvement projects. Facilitate the coordination, collection, and analysis of process and outcome data, for frequent reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.Performs other related duties as needed.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Information Technology or a related field.Three to five years of professional experience in system analysis related to clinical applications.Experience working in a technical role with practice management systems and electronic medical records.Experience with healthcare operations, including a basic understanding of different departments and their role in healthcare deliver.
