To perform supervisory tasks involving the management of aquatics. Responsible for the safety of all swimmers in pool and pool area. Responsible for opening/closing of aquatics facilities. Enforces pool rules and regulations for the safety and convenience of the public. Handle customer complaints, as necessary. Supervises and helps with the cleaning and filling of the pool; tests water and related equipment to confirm to operating policies. Ensures proper rotation of lifeguards, as well as ensuring their duties are complete. Administers CPR and first aid when necessary. Prepares work schedules for the lifeguards. Report and record all accidents immediately. Responsible for sales of pool passes and concessions. Monitor all pool participants regardless of age and make sure each person is obeying the rules. Ability to be work successfully in extreme hot and/or extreme cold temperatures; excessive humidity; slippery and uneven walking surfaces, excessive noise, and other extreme conditions such as noxious fumes, moving heavy machinery, etc. Perform other duties as assigned and/or required.
High school or GED; CPR-certified; a minimum of 3 seasons as a lifeguard; Valid AR Driver’s License required. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to complete post without sleeping and/or laying down or having to take breaks from that post. Have ability to effectively teach a swimming lesson. Ability to maintain accurate records, type and enter data accurately. Ability to effectively communicate on a one-on-one basis with others. Ability to maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with other employees, department officials and the public. Ability to report to work each scheduled day, and on time.

This position is part time seasonal and is not eligible for the City of Sherwood benefits package.
