Basic Function
The City of SeaTac is seeking talented Recreation Leaders to join our team. The Recreation Leader 1 will work under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor. You will be responsible for indoor and/or outdoor activities, ensuring activities are safe, proper and appropriate. This position also is responsible for helping to maintain equipment and grounds.
This is a variable hourly position.
Representative Duties

  • Help lead indoor and/or outdoor recreational activities including special events, playground activities and camps. E
  • Assist participants in appropriate recreational activities (i.e. arts and crafts, field trips, sports) and a variety of recreational activities and educational programs. E
  • Maintain a variety of records and help write periodic reports. E
  • Maintain program equipment in good working order. E
  • Ensure facility and grounds are kept neat, clean and litter free. Perform custodial and light maintenance duties. E
  • Provide information to the public concerning recreation programs, policies, regulations and schedules; answer participant inquiries in person and over the telephone. E
  • Render routine First Aid in case of minor injury and administer CPR as needed. E
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum of sixteen (16) years of age.
  • Interest in community recreation and/or education programs preferred.
  • A combination of experience and training that provides the candidate with the knowledge and skills to perform the job will be considered.
Licenses and Other Requirements

  • Valid adult and child CPR and First Aid Certificates preferred. Ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of hire required.
