The Human Services Department is responsible for the management, operation, and coordination of social and supportive services for youth, adults and families. The Department manages grants and oversees collaborations and partnerships with the faith-based community and not-for-profit organizations providing community-directed services to families and individuals to assist them in reaching self-sufficiency.

Manages federally funded community development grants and contracts.
Prepares contractual agreements between the city and assigned sub-recipients.
Maintains appropriate records and documentation in accordance with grant regulations.
Records and delivers information to the Grants Manager; explains procedures and policies.
Provides training and technical assistance to city staff, recipients and agencies on grant requirements and regulations.
Evaluates applications and proposals submitted for funding.
Assists in preparing projections and reconciling expenditures for annual performance reports and budget development.
Reviews and approves recipients and agencies' requests for reimbursement of grant funds.
Schedules and conducts monitoring visits with recipients and agencies.
Prepares sub-recipient monitoring reports and monthly project status reports.
Reviews sub-recipient audit reports; prepares audit reviews.
Assists in the planning of community engagement activities such as public hearings, workshops and National Community Development Week.
Performs other related duties as assigned.Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field; with two years of experience in grant administration or government budget administration; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. ; Work Location:305 Fahm Street
