The Recorder’s Court administers justice with fairness, equality, and integrity, to resolve matters before the court in a timely manner, and to provide courteous and prompt service in a manner that inspires public trust and confidence. Our team of Deputy Court Clerks, Senior Deputy Court Clerks, Court Services Specialists, Chief Deputy Court Clerk, Administrative Clerks, Senior Administrative Assistant, Judicial Secretaries, Cashiers, Case Disposition Clerks, Customer Services Representatives, Court Services Technicians, and director, works collaboratively to maintain a professional court environment and manage the daily operations of the Recorder’s Court smoothly while upholding a safe environment where all employees can succeed. As we continue to grow our small team of 28, the Recorder’s Court team is seeking a skilled individual with knowledge of court rules, legal terminology, practices and court room procedures, file and database management who is ready to assist with the day-to-day administrative of the Recorder's Court. As our new Court Services Technician you will be responsible for ensuring that all cases and matters assigned to the Recorder's Court are immediately placed upon the appropriate calendar and remain until disposed.

Essential Job Functions

  • Receives court documents such as pleadings, motions, rules nisi, etc.; reviews, verifies, codes and/or records required information.
  • Enters and updates information in court databases.
  • Creates calendars, including changes or continuances.
  • Handles telephone contacts to and from attorneys, probation officers, and pro se litigants regarding calendaring issues.
  • Purges old data as appropriate.
  • Creates notices and ensures all parties are properly notified of scheduled court events.
  • Copies and distributes calendars to appropriate parties; maintains copies in department manual files.
  • Notifies, in a timely manner, appropriate parties of any and all changes in the Court calendar.
  • Completes committals for the use of the Sheriff's Department.
  • Replenish materials as needed for Court operations.
  • Produce criminal and traffic histories for the Judge.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED supplemented by two (2) years of experience as a paralegal, legal secretary or office support staff; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Work Location: 133 Montgomery St Work Hours: 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday
Additional Requirements
Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
