Experience and Education: Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience - Sufficient years of experience in the delivery and operation of recreation programs, parks and facilities to demonstrate possession of the knowledge and abilities listed above.
Education - Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major work in recreation, physical education, public or business administration, political science, psychology, sociology, social welfare or a related field.
License or Certificate: Individuals must be physically capable of operating a motor vehicle safely and possess a valid, Class C, California Driver License, OR be able to demonstrate the ability to travel on frequent scheduled or unscheduled visits to various locations in the City that may or may not be reachable by public transportation.
For positions in Aquatics, current certificates in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR, are highly desirable. For all other positions, current certificates in CPR and First Aid are highly desirable.

Selection Process:
Applicants possessing the most desirable qualifications based on a screening of the application materials, including responses to the required Supplemental Questionnaire, will be invited to continue in a selection process which is anticipated to include a minimum qualification review, online skills test, as well as department interviews.
