The City of San Ramon, CA (population 83,820) is located in the San Ramon Valley of Contra Costa County, approximately 35 miles east of the City of San Francisco. Incorporated in 1983, San Ramon is a charter city, which operates under a Council-Manager form of government. The City occupies a land area of 18.56 square miles and is surrounded by the communities of Danville and Dublin as well as unincorporated lands in both Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. San Ramon’s parks, open space, and trails remain second-to-none in the East Bay. The City is located in the San Ramon Valley, long considered one of the most desirable living areas in the Bay Area because of its scenic beauty, suburban charm, excellent school system, and proximity to major employment centers.The City of San Ramon is seeking a passionate and innovative leader who is a strategic thinker to serve as its new Public Works Director. The New Public Works Director will be a team player who can work well with various stakeholders and use excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships. The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality services, strengthening community connections, and leading by example. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable of and experienced in the principles and practices of public works, parks and recreation, transportation, and public services, as well as principles of organization, administration, budget, and personnel management. Any combination of education and experience which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Qualified candidates will have the equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration or a related field and five (5) years of related supervisory and/or administrative responsibility in Public Works. Seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible and varied professional experience in Public Works is highly desirable, as well as a Professional Engineer (PE) certification and master’s degree. The annual salary range for the Public Works Director is $188,277.38 - $250,973.58; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.If you are interested in this outstanding opportunity, please visit Bob Murray & Associates website at www.bobmurrayassoc.com to apply online.
