City of Saline is Hiring a Facility Manager Near Saline, MI

SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Parks and Recreation Department Director or their designate, the Facility Manager plans, organizes, supervises, and administers operations of the Saline Recreation Center. Performs general programming functions in relation to special events, leagues, and youth/adult programs. Applies self-direction to meet and maintain the high-quality program standards of the Parks and Recreation Department. Uses innovative tactics in meeting goals and objectives while working within existing strategies and budgets. Position requires frequent contact with employees and the public with varying degrees of skill. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, as well as thorough working knowledge of facility management required. 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management or similar
  • Emphasis on facility management preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 years of experience in facility management
  • 1 year of supervisory experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

DRIVING?

  • Valid Driver’s License??

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Participates in the selection and the evaluation of Recreation Center personnel; Supervises, trains, and evaluates staff.
  • Fosters positive public relations.
  • Orders Rec Center building supplies.
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks to maintain integrity, proper appearance, and a safe environment for employees and the public.
  • Provides timely updates and reports on the Recreation Center operations to the Director of Parks and Recreation; Reports weekly, monthly, and annual attendance?counts;?weekly facility schedules, budget and expenditures.
  • Develops, implements, and enforces Recreation Center policies and procedures.
  • Makes recommendations for fees, memberships, and other revenue generating options for the facility.
  • Monitors and controls cost and operates within an established budget.
  • Coordinates and approves park, facility, field, and inflatable rentals.
  • Assists Building Maintenance with routine pool and building operations.
  • Coordinates fitness orientations for members.
  • Conducts seasonal in-services for building and front desk teams.
  • Liaison for contracted cleaning companies to ensure proper facility cleanliness.
  • Assists with capital improvement planning and budgeting.
  • Document injuries and incidents.
  • Coordinate with Public Relations Generalist to market programs, memberships, and facility.
  • Manage select leagues and programs.
  • Assist with creation of departmental brochures.
  • Assists with special Parks and Recreation events.
  • Regular and routine onsite attendance.
