Facility Maintenance Technician-Aquatics
City of Salina, Kansas
Parks & Recreation/ Facilities Maintenance

Duties: Performs skilled, semi-skilled, & routine work in pool & related facility maintenance including installation, maintenance, modification & repair work, facility cleaning & sanitation, building repair, minor plumbing & electrical repair; maintains proper pool & water chemistry & circulation at the aquatic park & City spray parks; maintains aquatic facility buildings & grounds to include general custodial & maintenance responsibilities for showers, restrooms, & deck maintenance including hosing, power & acid washing; assists with aquatic facility annual preventative maintenance program; performs manual labor & general construction including carpentry, framing, painting, light plumbing, concrete work & maintenance of public buildings; installs equipment; performs general repair & building maintenance tasks in assigned City facilities; assists other maintenance or skilled trades; supervises assigned temporary/seasonal employees; works on special projects & assignments; removes snow.

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D

Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible work in Facility Maintenance or pool maintenance.

Requirements: Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license; must have the ability to obtain a Certified Pool Operator certification within one (1) year from the employment start date.

Work Type: Heavy, exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to more objects.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Starting pay: $18.08-18.98/hr. DOQ EOE
