City of Rosenberg is Hiring a Kennel Technician Near Rosenberg, TX
Responsible for performing all animal care-related tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning kennels, sanitizing kennels, handling, feeding, evaluating, and socializing animals.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Performs general animal care and maintenance duties for programs and services of the Animal Control and Shelter DivisionPromotes a humane and caring attitude toward all animals and to treat all animals humanely, properly, and with compassion at all timesFeeds and cleans spaces of all shelter animals, including spot cleaning throughout shiftsMaintains healthy, safe, sanitary, pleasant, and clean facilitiesInputs animal updates into the shelter management program for accurate trackingProvides attention to enrichment and behavior rehabilitation needs of animalsSocializes dogs under care of the shelter including walking, off-lead play, facilitating dog-dog interactions through playgroup, training, and behavior rehabilitationSocializes cats under the care of the shelter including playing and behavior rehabilitationIdentifies problems or conditions (behavioral or medical) that need to be brought to the attention of immediate supervisorPerforms duties in a manner that encourages attainment of goals, contributions, and business for the shelter and its programsMust be able to work the allocated hours of the position.Performs other duties as assigned
