The Concession Worker will have the responsibility of serving patrons at Douglas Park, Hauberg Park, and RIFAC concession stand and various other sports events. Some of the responsibilities encompass efficient operation of food and beverage service equipment, cash register operation, restocking duties, and nightly cleanup of the facility and grounds. Upon hire the Concession Worker will be directly responsible to the Sports Manager. Weekend work will be required throughout the summer and some weeknights may be needed.Responsible for preparing food within guidelines of the food and sanitation permit.Responsible for providing outstanding customer service and timely presentation of food and beverage products to customers.Must be friendly and enjoy talking with customers.Ability to accurately take and fill customer orders.Ability to operate a cash register, accurately count money and return proper change.Clean tables by removing dirty plates, wiping table surfaces and disposing of garbage.Emptying of garbage containers.Keep serving areas stocked with necessary supplies.Interpersonal skills that require working as part of a team helping coworkers improve workflow and customer service.Complete records and reports as required by the department.Participate in regular in-service training sessions.Performs related duties as assigned.Applicants must be at least 18 years old, in compliance with legal requirements for the distribution of alcoholic beverages.Requires the knowledge and mental development equivalent to the completion of eighth grade or equivalent or any combination of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities and skills:An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies and procedures.Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.Ability to operate a cash register and return proper change.Ability to provide outstanding quality customer service.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to take and follow supervisory instruction.Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with supervisors, peers, and the general public.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
