The City of Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking temporary aquatics staff for the 2023 Summer season. Positions to be filled: Lifeguards, Head Lifeguards and Swimming Pool Managers. This position is established for a specific period of time. The intent of this position is to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill short term recreation/aquatics related positions throughout the City.
Lifeguards $18.00 - $20.29 Hourly
This employee will perform as a trained first responder and serve as the first link of life saving critical care during emergencies on land or in water at aquatics facilities. This position will focus on prevention and maintaining local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines. In conjunction with other duties such as leading and instructing courses, this employee will provide necessary customer services to residents and visitors to Richmond's aquatic facilities.
Head Lifeguard $19.50 - $23.49 Hourly (At least 3 years of lifeguard experience).
Performs all lifeguard duties plus they act as the first stage of citizen resolution of complaints and assistant supervisor of lifeguard staff.
Swimming Pool Manager $21.00 - $26.64 Hourly (Four years of lifeguard experience with demonstrated proficiency in swimming and rescue skills) Head lifeguard or supervisory experience preferred.
This employee will perform as a trained first responder and serve as the first stage of life saving critical care during emergencies on land and in water at aquatic facilities. This position will focus on prevention and maintaining local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines. In conjunction with other duties such as leading and instructing courses, this employee will provided necessary customer service to residents and visitors to Richmond's aquatic facilities. This position will also act as a second stage of citizen resolution in the event of complaints. This position will oversee the daily operation of swimming pool. This position will manager staff and supervise.
All Lifeguard positions act as a primary method of prevention in maintaining a safe and healthy aquatics environment. Lifeguards use skills hone in hours of rigorous globally recognized training in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Water Rescue to effectively identify, respond, and evaluate emergencies on land and in water.
