As a fellow in the Office of Mayor Levar Stoney, you will work closely with executive staff on policy and administrative projects. This is a fast-paced environment, projects, and priorities can change on a daily basis. However, we will work with you if you have an interest in a longer-term policy/research project as well. The duration of the 2024 Mayors Fellow Program is 10-weeks, May 20 - July 26, 2024 with the flexibility to telework and/or attend in-person.
Skills Needed:

• The ability to quickly turn around policy and legislative (local, state, and federal) research
• The ability to analyze various policies and best practices and make a recommendation
• The ability to attend City Council meetings and produce summarized notes
• Policy memo writing skills
• Written and oral communications skills
• Time management
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Internship Goals:

• To gain exposure to and gain understanding of the complexities of local government decision-making.
• To quickly deliver policy and legislative recommendations based on research.
• To sharpen policy analysis, memo writing, and communications skills using a local government lens.
