City of Richmond (CA) is Hiring a Mayors Fellow Program - Office of the Mayor Intern Near Richmond, VA
As a fellow in the Office of Mayor Levar Stoney, you will work closely with executive staff on policy and administrative projects. This is a fast-paced environment, projects, and priorities can change on a daily basis. However, we will work with you if you have an interest in a longer-term policy/research project as well. The duration of the 2024 Mayors Fellow Program is 10-weeks, May 20 - July 26, 2024 with the flexibility to telework and/or attend in-person. Skills Needed:
The ability to quickly turn around policy and legislative (local, state, and federal) research
The ability to analyze various policies and best practices and make a recommendation
The ability to attend City Council meetings and produce summarized notes
Policy memo writing skills
Written and oral communications skills
Time management
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Internship Goals:
To gain exposure to and gain understanding of the complexities of local government decision-making.
To quickly deliver policy and legislative recommendations based on research.
To sharpen policy analysis, memo writing, and communications skills using a local government lens.
