Important Duties
Education & Experience
Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university, pursuing an engineering degree, with an overall GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4.0.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge in Civil Engineering for Public Infrastructure; Knowledge of construction practices and techniques relating to streets, storm sewers, water systems and sanitary sewers; Must be able to perform work functions following prescribed safety procedures; Must be able to effectively communicate through written and verbal skills.
Must be able to perform effectively as a member of a team in carrying out the City’s Mission, Vision, & Values as well as the Trust Edge Experience©, which further establishes the foundation for our Mission, Vision, & Values through the 8-Pillars of trust, which are: Clarity, Compassion, Character, Competency, Commitment, Connection, Contribution and Consistency. Overall professionalism displaying the utmost integrity, discretion, courtesy, cooperation, discipline, and behavior.
Special Requirements
Must possess a valid Missouri State Driver's License.
Miscellaneous Requirements
May be subject to random substance abuse testing.
Physical Demands
Performs bending, squatting, crawling, twisting, kneeling, climbing, and reaching to ground level and overhead; Must be able to push and pull up to 40 pounds and be able to lift the items above head; Must be able to hold and grip objects. Must be able to push, pull and carry 80 pounds.
Work Environment
May be exposed to extreme weather, dust or pollen, toxic fumes, chemicals or smoke, contagious diseases, electrical or mechanical hazards and extreme noise; May work with poor ventilation and no natural lighting; May work in confined placed and awkward positions.
